IMPACT Emerging Breakout
Hey I'm out here at IMPACT 2006 in Ft Mitchell, KY. Bill and I have led two sessions. They have both went pretty well, and to prove our validity as emergent, we have already changed our agenda. Most here are fairly new to emergent thought, so the conversations have been fairly introductory, but still have been very interesting. We have been face to face with Doug Molgaard and vieulieu (sp?), who is really... Pastor Lew Button. Others such as Sherri Tobias, who has made a few comments, her husband Ben... Wayne Boyer and Dave Draper dropped in this morning, as well as several other engaging people. Looking forward to the next few days.

Brian,
If you read this while you are still in KY, why don't you post some of the feedback and comments while they are fresh in your mind. That way those of us who aren't there can feel like we're part of the conversation!

IMPACT update from the french guy: I will be on vacation for the next week. (For me that means reading in another location) After our conversations I have changed my reading list 1) How Post Modernism Serves my Faith by Crystal Downing (IVP) 2)Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irrelevant; A professor and a punk rocker discuss science, religion, naturalism and Christianity--edited by Preston Jones (IVP) (Email conversations between Preston Jones and Greg Gaffin, frontman for Bad Religion)
It was great meeting you all at Impact. Let the conversation continue.
I had a blast. My only regret is that so few of you were there for the face to face conversation.
I actually got to help edit that second book (Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irrelevant?) I actually didn't care for it too much (I felt it left too many threads dangling). But others might enjoy it, especially if they're a fan of Bad Religion! ;)
It was a good time at IMPACT it is a good place to meet face to face. I hope this forum will grow at IMPACT in the coming years.
I think Brian and Bill did a good job. Thanks guys! I think it was more dialogue then conversation but I understand that there is only so much time to get in a lot of information and this is new to a lot of people.
Blessings!
As one of those dubious traditionalists, I enjoyed the discussion at IMPACT immensely, especially since I was able to see some of my closest friends. I look forwward to joining the conversation.
