Conversation with an Atheist

Last night I had the privilege of being interviewed on a community radio program in the Nashville area called "Brightly Speaking". "Bright" is a new euphemism that some atheists are trying to appropriate for themselves, and "Brightly Speaking" is a radio talk-show done by an atheist friend, Wendell, that I met this past year through the Off the Map message boards.

You can read more about my experience here, or download the podcast of the interview by clicking here.

Mike,

I just listen to the podcast. Although I may be to moderate to agree with you on some issues, I think you did a good job!

Wendell seems to be a seeker. I think you gave him something to seek after.

Not only is this a dialog between a Christian and a Atheist but also a between a Modernist and a Post-Modernist.

There seems to be a lot of deconstructing and reconstructing that needs to be done.

I pray that he finds what he is looking for and that you will be a source in that search!

Implying that I was too liberal or too conservative? ;)

It definitely was a dialog btwn a Modern and a PostModern. I've often found that to be the biggest difference between me and my atheist friends, sometimes even more than my faith in God and their lack thereof. Atheism seems to be a particularly Modern point of view, at least atheism that is based primarily on a commitment to skeptical rationalism and scientism.
