CGGC in an Emerging World
The world is changing rapidly. Postmodern thinking is increasing in the west and the East is becoming part of the Global community. Many in the Churches of God General Conference are interested in what church will look like as fresh expressions in the 21st century. This blog has been encouraged by the CGGC but in no way reflects the official thinking of the denomination. It is a place for free flow of thought and conversation.

OK, just because someone should ask: The term "missional communities" is different from "church" how? I mean, does it *add* something. . . or does it leave out* something? Which is it?
Thanks.

Not every missional community is a "church". We won't just be highlighting churches. We've also included neo-monastic communes like Reba Place Fellowship, Emergent cohorts like up/rooted, as well as people who have unplugged from the institutional church altogether, but who still wish to live in missional community without the trappings of "church".
It should also be added that not all churches currently act in missional ways (nor do all churches foster real community). One of the goals of this conference is to help pastors and other church leaders learn how to create community and renew mission within their churches - primarily by interacting with the stories of others who are already doing it.
I hope this clarifies. Thanks for asking.
