FYI: Book Recommendations

Scot McKnight has a blog post recommending some new books that can be useful in trying to understand the church landscape today. He says of Tony Jones' book The New Christians: "If you want to know what “emergent” (as in Emergent Village) is all about, here’s the only and best firsthand account." He suggests Tom Sine's new book The New Consparitors does for emerging what Tony's book does for emergent. He says, "Sine’s book maps four areas of church shifts: emerging, missional, mosaic, and (new) monasticism." And for another book on what he calls 'The Third Way' he recommends Roger Olson's book How To Be Evangelical Without Being Conservative.

I haven't read any of these books but just wanted to let you know about them if you didn't already, in case someone was interested.
