Observation:

This blog is the closest thing we have had in a long time to what The Church Advocate was in Winebrenner's day. And, in Winebrenner's day, anyone and everyone accepted the invitation to engage in the Church of God's struggle to grasp and live truth--Winebrenner included and especially.

Complaint:

Both Wayne and Ed chose lurk, to stay aloof, to hold themselves above our nitty gritty struggle for truth, something that Winebrenner would never have dreamed of and could not have done if he tried. That they did describes the difference between the Church of God in its movement, Kingdom-building days when we practiced the priesthood of all believers, and the hierarchical, High Priest-focused, institutionalized CGGC that exists today.

I still am not convinced that keeping anonymous posts off the blog was the best idea. So, whatever comes next should wrestle with this question. If the CGGC is in a time of transition, some form of protection may be necessary for those who want to share their insights without the immediate negative political response.

This next idea isn't so much a complaint as an observation - it seems that the more CGGC-centric this conversation became the less that others engaged it. As we move forward, do we need a forum that focuses exclusively on CGGC concerns or a forum that addresses wider issues that is heavily populated by CGGC-ers?
